Product Features | Anisole, also known as anisole, methoxybenzene, and methyl phenyl ether, is a colorless liquid with the odor of fennel. It has a sweet taste. It naturally exists in tarragon essential oil. It is insoluble in water and soluble inwater. Ethanol, ether and acetone are easily soluble in benzene. Irritating to eyes and mucous membranes. Production method | 1. It is made by reacting methylating agent dimethyl sulfate with phenol in alkaline solution. It is derived from the reaction of phenol and dimethyl sulfate in the presence of sodium hydroxide. |
